12/8/2023 0 Comments Reading books vs audiobooks![]() ![]() I can't concentrate on them, however, when I am playing most games (League of Legends, Overwatch, FFXiV) that include heavy strategy or informational processing, but can with games that are more pattern or creation based (Minecraft, Puyo Puyo Tetris). I also listen while driving and crocheting. I think it's worth checking out at the very least!Īudiobooks for me are great when doing menial labor, things I don't have to concentrate on too much - like logging emails into ticket form for my job, or testing mundane items like buttons on our websites that do or don't work. I would also love to get a physical copy of all the books I've listened to. It gives me a chance to "read" while I work when I would otherwise have little to no time due to life and such. The selection is just limited to what the library has to offer. It might be worth a try to use a free trial from audible and if you don't like it no biggie, or there are many free options as well, like Overdrive, that are linked to your library card. I think the tough part is choosing a book haha there's so many. I'm actually about to start cleaning my apartment and I'm about to listen to a book as I do so. If I have to communicate with other crew I typically won't listen to books. All of that requires little thinking and so I can be deep into a book and still preform my work. I work landscape/grounds maintenance for a living and most of what I do, especially if I work alone is fairly menial, ie., Digging, trimming shrubs, edging sidewalks etc. Example: Hello.Įxplanation of our link flairs Join our /r/bookclub Don't forget /new!
